Lapa as Locals: the romantic & secluded neighborhood of Lisbon that is also only 5 min away from bustling Chiado and Bairro Alto

Tourists might miss Lisboa’s most authentic charms when they stick to the well-worn tourist track but by staying in Lapa, you will have the authentic feeling of staying in a traditionally residential area and it's only 5 minutes away from bustling Chiado and Bairro Alto.

A typical lazy Saturday morning will aways start with coffee and you may find many options within walking distance, from traditional Pastelarias to modern brunches such as Cherie Paloma. If you find yourself craving something a bit exotic, their Latino brunches are the way to go.

Let yourself wander through the hills and winding roads a bit, and before you know it, you will find yourself in Santos, newly entitled the bohemian-artsy district of Lisbon. Museu Nacional de Arte Antiga, home to the biggest collection of National treasures and Museu do Oriente, where you will truly immerse into the fascinating History between Europe and Asia, are two absolute must-sees when in the capital.

Commute like a local and jump on the Elétrico, as we call it, straight to trendy Alcantara. Charmingly located by the river, you will find it's quite easy to fall in love with Lisbon as the sun sheds its beautiful golden light upon Tejo.

Make sure to pay a visit to Lx Factory, once a fabric complex, now a venue filled with restaurants, bars and design shops. It has rightfully gained the reputation as one of the coolest places in town. You may even keep cruising towards Belém (this one needs no introduction!) if you have the stamina for it, or head back towards the downtown again for a promising night out.
