Lisbon's up-and-coming Cais Sodré neighbourhood is a foodie haven. Come with an empty stomach.

Eighteen21_Lisbon

If you are staying in our Casa de São Paulo in Lisbon, you are in for a treat, quite literally. For over the past few years, Rua de São Paulo has become a haven for foodies. With its large and ever growing variety of restaurants, it is the it place, where both Portuguese and foreigners can be seen gallivanting over the weekends.

It is filled with traditional Portuguese tascas, but equally, home for newer spots. As we know navigating through the restaurant scene can be slightly overwhelming, fret not, we've handpicked our favourite new spots closest to our Casa de São Paulo. And in case you are interested in staying at our Casa de São Domingos, the hustle & bustle is less than 10 min away!

BOOK CASA DE SÃO PAULO

Musa da Bica

The best Portuguese independent beer, opened a few months ago a second location right on our building's ground floor. Following the success of their brewery in the industrial neighbourhood of Marvila (their first unit), swing by here for crafted beers before going to bed.

Misc by Tartar-ia

A new spin on Portuguese food, Misc by Tartar-ia has a select, yet delicious menu of tartars, fish and steak options with a twist. Every dish delicately balances surprising yet very complimentary flavours, served beautifully, set in a cozy space.

Comobá

Exuding major Aussie vibes with its high ceilings, fast-paced service and noticeable ambient music, Comobá is the place to go for weekend brunches. Featuring a minimalistic decor, indulge in plant-based lattes, matcha pancakes, and colourful food bowls. Organic, zero waste, locally-sourced, no plastic.

Pistola y Corazón

The brain child of chef Damian Irizarry’s passion for tacos and street food, Pistola y Corazon brought comida sin verguenza to Lisbon in 2014. Definitely one for the cool kids, it's not unusual to see groups of friends waiting in line for a couple of hours.

Café Janis

Portuguese with a french twist, Café Janis features both indoor and outdoor seating — on a sunny day, secure a space outside. Come here for lunch and as the sun sets, treat yourself to cocktails. Their Vegan Bowl reminds us that plants can taste incredibly delicious.
